Wellhead Protection

Wellhead Protection is also known as wellfield, aquifer, drinking water, and source water protection. However, all of these programs have one major purpose: the prevention of groundwater contamination.

Basic Elements Of A Wellhead Protection Program

1- Form a local team to plan, set goals, and assign responsibility
2- Define and map the protection areas
3- Inventory the potential contamination sources
4- Manage the protection area(s) through regulatory and non-regulatory techniques, including public involvement and education.
5- Plan for the future

Benefits Of A Wellhead Protection Program Over Existing Methods
