San Joaquin Valley Basin

GIS Coverages Generated in ArcView

• This is just to display some of the possibilities for visually examining the data sets I have.  The pre-1940 data is just a start since the frequency and distribution of measurements increases thereafter and will likely be better for generating contour maps.  Some of the contours are currently extrapolated over large distances.  
  
• Shown are just an average of all the pre-1940 groundwater level measurements, but of course these data can also be coded for season and year.  As far as I know these measurements are all from the unconfined aquifer, but if not I will find out what coding is in the database to represent the confined zones and unconfined zones differently.

3D elevation in the San Joaquin Valley Basin overlain with Estimated Water Elevation Contours (sorry no values) ArcView does not do some basic things in 3-D like label contours.  I will likely switch to ArcInfo soon.	3D elevation model of San Joaquin Valley with land cover/land use mapped to the elevation.  Again, I can generate keys for these graphs although it is somewhat cumbersome in ArcView.
