Despite substantial regulatory
reform in 1970s, the establishment of the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency and state-based environmental protection agencies,
and broader environmental awarness thanks to pioneers like Rachel
Carson, society is only beginning to bring human action in line with
ecological systems on which we are so dependent. Governments
and citizens are getting more efficient and cleaner, but economic
and population growth has largely outpaced the successes.
Waterscape's Water & Environment Programs seek to enhance
resource use efficiency, reduce the impact of outputs into the
environment, and increase civic understanding of environmental
systems and management.
